After much debate we decided that we don't want spectators anymore. You get in the way, you don't follow instructions, you get ran over, we don't need you. Some clever ad agent coined the saying that "life is not a spectator sport" we in the SFVISBF take this credo to heart, our actions speak for themselves. However, excluding people from something good and fun out of hand is an elitist dick-head thing to do. We're not elitist dick-heads. If you want to come watch you will have to be a participant. You will have a job. The only way to get these coveted positions is to apply in person, you're e-mail pleas will be discarded. Do not call either, I will hang up on you. You must show up in person at Atomic Cycles. The address: 17322 Saticoy Van Nuys, Ca 91406 11-6 Tues-Sat 12-5 Sun. Closed Mondays. Show up during these hours and apply for one of the below positions. Do your job, you get an invite to the next race, do not do your job, no invitation. It's very simple. Follow the directions. No exceptions, no negotiations, no bullshit. We don't need you, don't fuck with us. If you get on board, you can bring a friend or two as long as you all come in the same car. One of the big problems is parking, if I have to choose between a parking spot for a driver or a parking spot for a spectator, you lose out every time. Do not take the information and pass it along, do not put it on the web. I'll be looking. If one spectator posts any race location on the web, we will close the program, you will all lose out. I don't care if one bad apple fucks it up for everyone else, too bad. The solution: don't fuck up, follow directions.
We are going to try this out, if it does not work then we will cut spectators all together.
Jobs:
Line Marshall
You will need a cell phone or a set of good walkie-talkies. Your job is to give the "all clear" at the top and bottom of the course. You will have to work with others. You will also have to keep people from parking or spectating in special areas. Failure to do your job means removal from the mailing list.
Cone Steward
You will need to guard the cones, set up comes and pick them up when the races are over. You may have to set up special cones before the race begins or tell us when the gate are open etc, this will require you to get there early. Failure to do your job means removal from the mailing list.
First Aid
You will have to have some medical training and bring your own materials. Hopefully you won't have to do anything. Failure to do your job means removal from the mailing list.
Doughnut Master
Provide doughnuts for our drivers and crew. This is not an easy job, you've never seen us eat. There will be 40-60 people. Failure to do your job means removal from the mailing list.
