Twist n’ Shout Earned it’s name this time around as we gathered up at the North end of Zelzah. We had to get a jump on things as angry neighbors were waving arms and canes at us stating that what we were doing was illegal. The word floated out that the cops were called so we got things underway with 11 cars. A good portion of this course is a narrow two-lane road that takes several twists and turns so we had to do two rows of cars, putting the slow cars in the front. The signal was given and we rolled down the hill in tight quarters as the racers jockeyed for position. The Danger cart with it’s new body made for the lead with JD in the saran-wrap special hot on his tail followed by the Carcass in the Snot Rocket. After we bumped our way through the S-turn the dip of death claimed JD after he laid a trail of smoke from his scrub brake. JD, spun out to the side of the road, leaving the Danger Cart and the Snot Rocket to navigate the hard left for the final stretch. The Danger Cart lost control in the turn and spun into the oncoming path of the Snot Rocket which slammed into the Danger Cart with such force that it did an end over end flip. This opened up the race for some of the cars that made the last turn to vie for the win. In the end Flintstone took the win by 6 inches bit gave the trophy to Tick-One because Flintstone was racing in a go-cart, not a home built soapbox. Much Respect. There was also a spectacular crash by Satan’s Mayhem piloted by Richard. His wheels did not survive the dip of death, leading him to a barrel roll that left his car in shambles. Car and driver have since been set to rights. Also, much props to Maddog for his fine looking ride modeled after at rat-rod style coupe. Cool Stuff!
