Go to the bottom for course descriptions and meet points.

The spirit of the thing, what is the point?

The goal is to have fun on mini bikes. If you're only in this to win, you're missing the point. If you dump tons of money into your bike, you're missing the point. If you get upset because someone beats you, you are missing the point. The competition is supposed to be friendly. Nor do we want to hear a bunch of sniveling how things are not fair and you would have done it different. Really? Then by all means do your own thing! Otherwise fucking deal. No one is forcing you to ride with us so if you can't stand the way things are set up, just stay home.

In this spirit we are making a few changes, please see below.

New rules that are different from 2008:

1. No substitutions or Jockeys.

This means if you have to miss a race for whatever reason no one else can run your number for the points. You and you alone are to race your bike, making to each race is up to you. Also this means you can't have a number and then race a different rider each time. The number goes to the individual, not the bike.

2. You must use a mini bike, not a motorcycle. As the competition level rises the desire to utilize motorcycle parts has come into play. Last year that was fine but we don't want escalation, we want to keep it as old school as we can. We are limiting the amount of motorcycle crap to about 30%. It is a mini bike event after all, not a motorcycle event. This means:

Wheels and Tires or

Brakes and a handle bar or

A handle bar and fork, but not all of them.

Your frame must be a mini bike frame

This means you! Do not fuck with us. If you're not sure, the answer is no. You really don't need this crap but if you want to be a pussy, fine go right on ahead. High performance parts and engines, motorcycle parts etc. don't really give one much if any advantage. Many regular plain-jane mini bikes from the past did just fine with the right pilot commanding it.

3. There will be no classes.

If we had a regular legit course that we could use all the time, classes, heats etc. would be a good idea. But we do not. As you well know many of the events are brutal and the hot rod bikes are prone to failure. Every bike must fall under the parameters given and that is enough for us. We could split hairs forever on motors, wheels, suspension but we feel it's not important enough to spend countless hours on making it happen.

4. If you want to keep your old number from last year you can.

If you want a new number that was used last year, you'll need to see if the guy who used it wants it or not. You have dibs on your old number.

5. The Baja Mini Bike.

Now, do your homework and you'll see that there are many examples of larger mini bikes from the minibike's hey day in the 1960's. i.e the bronc, the super bronc, the artic cat. The Baja Mini is cheap and accessible. It's a mini bike. You don't agree? Well too fucking bad.

6. You may change your bike for each course.

You can have a stable of bikes i.e. one for dirt, one for street etc. if you want.

Drivers:

Make sure you have your number plate on your bike and it can be seen! The score keepers need to be able to see your number. I recommend you have a plate on the rear and sides of your bike as well.

  Entry Fee:

There is a $25.00 entry fee to join these events, this fee covers all mini moto events for the season and is a one-time fee. You must register at a given event.  You can pick your race number as long as it has not been claimed by another racer.

There has been some confusion about the fee. Yes you have to pay it. Even if you don't want to be on the roster, you have to pay. That's it. No freeloading. If you're too cheap to spend what comes out to two bucks a race, a t-shirt, sticker and patch for a dollar then stay home.

  What you get:

Mini Moto t-shirt

Sticker

Patch

  Ranking in the Mini Moto:

The ranking system will be done on a point basis. You get points for participating in each event, more if you place.

1 point will be awarded for participating in a given event

1 point will be awarded for placing third in a given event

2 points will be awarded for placing second in a given event

3 points will be awarded if one places 1st in a given event

Throughout the season, drivers can look up their standing on the SFVISBF website.

The driver with the highest point total at the end of the season wins the Mini Moto Challenge.

  Rules for bikes:

You must have a factory or home built mini bike that has these features:

Single speed gearing: centrifugal clutch or torque converter.

Pull start motor

4 stroke Gas/altered fuel motor (no electrics, 2 strokes etc.)

Braking system (disc, drum, or scrub)

No:

Pit/ pocket bikes

Go Peds

Mopeds

Trail 50’s, 70’s or the like

Motorcycles, Wizzers or modified bicycles of any kind.

Your bike must pass a basic inspection to be entered.

We leave engine size and overall construction to each racer.

Run # 10. Toys For Tots Run!

Following Directions:

Follow Directions

Follow Directions

Follow Directions

If you want to act like a jackass (before it's time) then stay home. The last ride we did we had several jackasses tearing off down the road like it was a race, riding on the sidewalk, potentially ruining it for everyone else. If you can't follow directions, don't show up.

Also, Do not ride on the courses before or after race day. If you do, you run the risk of burning out the spot and ruining it for everyone. Don't be selfish. Think.

We've went legit. Working with the traffic division of the LAPD we're going to get a police escort to do our Toys for Tots run.

Some rules:

Helmet.

No hot-dogging etc, ride cool and slow, this is not a race.

You have to have at least 10 bucks to buy a toy to donate. No freeloading! Also, you should have a bag or pack to carry said toy.

Since this is the last event, anyone can join that has not signed up for the year, for those who have, it's a 1 point event.

We will be leaving the parking lot of Atomic Cycles 17322 Saticoy Van Nuys CA, 91406 at 9am sharp, don't be late!

We'll also need a pick-up for a chase vehicle any help would be great.
