September 9th Re-Cap

Race Date: September 9th 2007. 26 cars, new blood, new fools for the SFVISBF jaws to mash. The course: Par 4 a wonderful stretch of road that was once meant to go over the hills but it was stopped by Serria clubbers and the like who wanted to preserve the natural landscape. Par 4 is very wide at the top and dead ends, it then narrows down to a two-lane road once again as you wiz by the confused golfers in their carts, the landscape is most scenic. As we lined up a cop car was poised in the middle of the hill. We all saw it and the hustle began, "Cops! Cops!" The mad scramble began and we had a shambling start, the cop car made a quick u-turn and darted down the road in front of us as we gained speed down the hill. The Cop ran stops, we ran stops, well, we always run stops. When we go to the bottom of the hill, the police officer had a huge grin on his face, "How fast were you going?" he said, his sunglasses not concealing his smiling eyes. "Over 50, I guess." I said. "Man, I had to step on it to get away from you!" All smiles. Well that was refreshing, we've never had a police escort before. Race on.
